Could you introduce yourself?

Murillo Barros, 26 year old currently living in Brooklyn, New York. Originally from Brazil and grew up in Worcester, MA. I'm a student at Fashion Institute of Technology, taking a year off, and what not. What’s your life philosophy? How do you try to apply that to your work?

Don't give up on your dreams. Anything is possible if you work hard enough. Don't let anything get in your way and believe in yourself. How would you describe your art style? Do you feel like it reflects you? I either like it too simple and minimalist, or too colorful, and wild. I like to show character and emotion through my work. Who are the individuals in your work? Friends, family, strangers?

Mostly friends from back home, or strangers from the streets, or parties.. wherever I am in the moment. What are a few tips for other artists that might be reading this?

Be yourself and don't be afraid to show your work If you had to choose any music album that captures the emotion of your work, what would it be and why?

Trust - TRST (2012) - This album is everything - it balances good and bad, light and dark, it's quiet and loud, it's sad and happy... Do you have any rituals you do before you start your creative process for a new project, to get your mind and energy in the right place?

There aren’t really any rituals. I always carry my camera with me, whatever I'm feeling in that moment or I see anything inspiring that catches in my eyes, I cease it. What’s a typical day for you?

I usually wake around 8am, make breakfast, go to work and come home. Coffee or tea?

Coffee, preferably cold brew. What are some of your goals for 2017?

Travel more What makes you happy?

Dancing with friends, summer road trips Any closing comments?
