Could you introduce yourself?

I was born from two amazing human beings, worth filling millions of pages in a book. They gave me the name Sarah Devi Betolo Mambouka, although, I think I chose my name to be Devi Mambouka. My new project is called MASMA DREAM WORLD.

What's the story behind the name?

"High up in the mountains of Peru, 850 miles from the Gate of the Gods, is a breathtaking 2-mile long plateau another area of reportedly high energy. For centuries it has been a powerful sacred place among the Incan people. It's called Markawasi.

Markawasi is said to have very bizarre energy patterns. According to Kathy Moore, “Markawasi is a place of wizards and genies and people treat it with a great deal of veneration. When people go there, they experience a special kind of energy – or a state of Euphoria”. Most geologists believe that the stone figures at Markawasi are naturally formed through weathering and other natural processes. According to Daniel Rousseau, the name Markawasi probably meant two-storied house and referred to the strange complex of buildings located on the site. Rousseau further states that the ancient people who built Markawasi were called the Masma and supposedly, Peru was not their only home. Robert M Schoch observes, “The Masma were very ancient, very advanced civilization, who seemed to have had a global existence and have traveled worldwide at a very early period, in pre-recorded history. Rousseau spent a lot of time looking for evidence of this civilization and seemed to have finally found it in Markawasi. He thought Markawasi was some kind of a sculpture garden built by the Masma”." - Words from here.

What’s your life philosophy? How do you try to apply that to your work?

I saw an amazing t-shirt a day ago and it said " I am under the spell of joy" That is my life philosophy right there. Meditation slows the moment of thought and brings you closer to the source of pure love. That is why I meditate everyday first thing in the morning.

Could you tell us what you think makes you stand apart in the music industry?

I hope not to stand apart, but to merge in the music stream as a natural occurring progression to the future of sound art.

What is it about music that has connected with you the most, opposed to other mediums of expression?

Because everything in the universe is vibration, and vibration is sound. Music is vibration with intent, it is a powerful healer.

Imagine being in the middle of the forest at night, with a huge fire in the middle of a drumming circle.

The songs are connected to each other like parts of a story, like the thoughts that flow through our heads. "Dream World"

My African, my Asian and European origin along with colonization and world war two.

If you had to come up with a new genre to describe your music, what would it be and why?

I don't think I could come up with a new genre, the music is channeled through ancient wisdom.

I just hope they feel good and joyful after leaving a show.
