PRECIOUS CHILD WANTS YOU TO FIND YOUR OWN MEANING | GBP INTERVIEW #396

December 21, 2017

Could you introduce yourself?

My name is Precious.

What’s your life philosophy?  How do you try to apply that to your work?

To understand my existence.  I am the artist and my work is my experience.

How did the name Precious Child come to be? What's the story?

It is an open ended stimuli and I intend for my audience to attribute their own meaning.

How does your environment influence your creative direction?

I am post-tv, post-music, post-movies, post-friendship and work all day and night.  There's a world inside me.

What's a song that gets you dancing and singing along, no matter where you are?

I don't dance or sing and am post-music.

Could you tell us a bit about your latest project, "Just A Body"? What inspired this particular mini-video series?

The experience of creating and releasing the video "My Little Problem" and "Phantom"; the impact and the aftermath.

How has your collaboration with Cade changed how you create? What's one thing you feel like really makes you two stand apart from other collaborators?

Conflict, challenge, boundary transgression.  Our collaboration is acrid and abusive.  Discord is stimulating.

Could you walk us through a day you would deem perfect?

Every day is perfect.  I spent my whole life creating this day.

Who are a few of your biggest influences?

BD Biosciences

What makes you happy?

I am post-emotion and do not pursue or quantify the emotional experience.

Any closing comments?

I am just a reflection of you.
