While Bruno Mars was introducing the Icon Award at the Billboard Music Awards, many people's wishes came true within a second. Janet Jackson's name was spoken, she won the amazing Icon Award and it made history.

Her acceptance speech was inspiring, touched on politics, and she also commented on recent topics surrounding women's rights and other very important activism. She used her platform in such a selfless way.

Her acceptance speech went as follows:

"I'm deeply humbled and grateful for this award. I believe that for all the challenges, for all our challenges, we live in a glorious moment in history," she said. She continued, "It's a moment when, at long last, women have made it clear that we will not longer be controlled, manipulated, or abused. I stand with those women and with those men equally outraged by discrimination who support us in heart and mind."
